The famous white lady displays beautiful measurements:
106 meters high,
2.7 km long,
60 million cubic metres of sand.
Its history goes back thousands of years. Recent archaeological excavations prove that 2,600 years ago humans lived on the site.
Several access
La Dune du Pilat est accessible par le parking qui se situe à ses pieds, côté forêt. On se gare, on longe un petit chemin et on grimpe par le petit escalier éphémère
installed from April to November. Currently there are works in the parking lot and the reception area of the Dune du Pilat. Work is expected to be completed in April 2023, but the site is still accessible.
There is another access, avenue Louis-Gaume, with the staircase of the Corniche, next to the stele of sailors perished at sea. Go down and you will find yourself directly on the beach at the foot of the Dune. This staircase is equipped with viewpoint platforms and signage describing the natural fauna and flora as well as the species living there. Go for a walk, in the evening, when the sun goes down, you will appreciate the magic of the moment.
Only one restaurant will be open this summer: we advise you to eat in advance, or to take your picnic while not forgetting to leave with your waste before your departure. This restaurant offers only products from the short circuit, with recyclable containers.
Opting for parking at the Dune parking lot is to contribute to the preservation of the Dune site. All parking revenues are used to finance the maintenance of the site.
The bike, electric bike, bus, parking relay are the right mobility reflexes to have.
There is an annual subscription with unlimited access to the car park for €15.
